Quarantine Painting / PleinAirpril

I’m no stranger to staying home and painting for days on end without leaving the house… But something does feel different now that we are officially trying to stay in 100% of the time. No fun things to do on the weekend like go grab brunch and walk around a museum.

To break up the monotony of my own projects, I’ve decided to participate in the April challenge #PleinAirpril from @warriorpainters to create a landscape painting every day this month!

Normally, Plein Air paintings are done outside on the spot. But clearly, that’s not an option right now with the current health climate! These will be more Plein Internet! For the first day, I chose a photo by @jasonhortsmanphotography of Olympic National Park.

This piece was done on an 8”x10” canvas board with oils. Plein Airpril is sponsored by @warriorpainters , @windsorandnewton , and @cottonwoodartsbook .
